THE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR MARCO POLO STUDIES

With a view to providing such a lead, therefore, we propose the establishment of an

INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE FOR MARCO POLO STUDIES

charged with preparing the ground for the ultimate establishment of an

INTERNATIONAL MARCO POLO ASSOCIATION

whose role & responsibility will be to initiate, implement, and oversee the development of a comprehensive cultural exchange and communication program between East and West, embracing all levels of society and all ages of population, and incorporating practical projects and co-operative ventures of all kinds as well as academic research and other specialist activities. We envisage such an Association functioning on a commercial basis, with sponsorship from the international business community as well as cultural institutions and other sources, and developing a comprehensive program of activities on the basis of recommendations made by its founding Committee.
